In a powerful display of cross-party collaboration, Principal Secretaries from various national government ministries have joined Kisii County leadership to urge residents to support the ongoing cooperation between the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) and the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM). The leaders emphasized that the “broad-based” political arrangement is already yielding tangible development dividends for the region. Speaking during a church fundraiser at St. Ambrose Kabeo Catholic Parish in Nyamache Sub County, the leaders outlined a unified vision of progress, highlighting multi-million infrastructure projects, expanded healthcare access, and digital transformation initiatives currently underway in the county.

Broadcasting and Telecommunications Principal Secretary Stephen Isaboke led the chorus of voices calling for unity. Medical Services PS Dr. Ouma Oluga, who also graced the event, emphasized that the political arrangement has been instrumental in the successful rollout of the Social Health Authority (SHA). He challenged residents to take personal responsibility for their health by registering for SHA through the designated mobile platform. “Universal health coverage can only be achieved if individuals enroll in the scheme,” Dr. Oluga stated, urging the community to take advantage of the expanded medical insurance access now available to Kenyans.

Basic Education Principal Secretary John Ololtuaa reiterated the government’s unwavering commitment to ensuring equal learning opportunities for all children. He confirmed that the government is dedicated to providing adequate capitation to schools and employing additional teachers to bridge the staffing gap. Addressing a darker social issue, Social Protection PS Joseph Motari issued a stern caution to residents against lynching the elderly on allegations of witchcraft.
