A stepdad in Kajiado County has been sentenced to twenty years in Prison, after the Court found him guilty of defiling his 13-year-old step-daughter in Kajiado County.
The convict was charged with Defilement contrary to Section 8(1) as read with Section 8(3). He faced an alternative charge of committing an indecent act with a minor contrary to Section 11(1) of the Sexual Offences Act.
During the hearing, the court heard that the offence took place on June 16, 2024, in Kiserian Township, Kajiado County.
Prosecution, represented by Counsels Filah Martins and Christopher, called five witnesses, including the minor who narrated that she had lived with the convict as her step-father for about four years.

She told the court that on the fateful day, as she was performing her chores, her stepfather took her to the bedroom and defiled her. She attempted to scream, but he covered her mouth with his hands and offered her Sh1000.
The minor told the court that she declined the money and later informed her neighbour, who immediately took her to seek medical attention.
Court ruled that the prosecution had proven the case beyond reasonable doubt and dismissed the convicts defence as a mere afterthought.
The sentence was read on 9th July 2026 after court considered the circumstances of the case including the pre-sentence report.
The convict has 14 days to appeal.
