SportPesa has reaffirmed its commitment to Kenyan football while calling for a swift and transparent investigation into ongoing governance concerns at the Football Kenya Federation (FKF).

In a statement, the gaming firm—title sponsor of the SportPesa Premier League—said its primary focus remains the growth, stability, and integrity of the game under its long-term partnership with the federation.

The company acknowledged significant strides made in recent years under FKF President Hussein Mohammed, highlighting a series of milestones that have elevated Kenya’s football profile on the continental and global stage.

Among the achievements cited were Kenya’s successful co-hosting of the African Nations Championship 2025, the Junior Starlets securing their first-ever qualification to the FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup, and the Harambee Starlets booking a place at the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations 2026.

SportPesa also noted Kenya’s hosting of the FIFA Women’s Series as part of the broader progress in the women’s game.

At the domestic level, the firm pointed to renewed momentum in the league, citing improved organization, increased visibility for clubs and players, and stronger engagement with commercial partners.

“These gains are contributing to a more vibrant football ecosystem that benefits players, fans, and the broader sports economy,” the statement said.

SportPesa further acknowledged efforts to rebuild trust in football governance, enhance collaboration with stakeholders, and strengthen national team structures.

However, amid allegations currently under review within FKF, the sponsor emphasized the need for due process.

“All such matters must be subjected to a thorough, independent investigation, including any potential leadership changes,” the company said.

It urged stakeholders to ensure a swift, transparent, and fair resolution that upholds accountability while safeguarding the progress made in Kenyan football.

SportPesa reiterated that it remains a committed long-term partner, pledging continued support for initiatives that strengthen the sport’s commercial viability and create opportunities for local talent.

The firm maintained that integrity, accountability, and sustainable growth must remain central as Kenyan football navigates the current challenges.
