The Director of Public Prosecutions has secured the conviction of four accused persons in a robbery with violence case arising from an attack in Rongai Sub-County, Nakuru County.
The Molo Magistrate’s Court found Knab Ouma Obach (1st Accused), Abraham Isaac Oriosa (2nd Accused), Dennis Nyariki Nyareeru (3rd Accused), and James Changamu Nchore (4th Accused) guilty of multiple charges including rape, indecent act with a child and adult, stemming from a violent robbery incident.
The court established that on 24th June 2023 at about 8.00 p.m. at Roret Nashville Village in Rongai Sub-County, the accused persons, jointly with others not before court and while armed with dangerous weapons including a pistol, slasher, hammer, hacksaw and knife, violently robbed Rhoda Kwamboka Nyambati of assorted household items, electronics, clothing, gas cylinders, poultry, and cash amounting to Sh 166,000.

During the trial, the Prosecution, led by Principal Prosecution Counsel Peninah Owando, presented evidence linking the accused persons to the robbery and demonstrating their joint participation in the violent attack and theft of the complainant’s property.
The court found that the Prosecution had proved its case beyond reasonable doubt against the four accused persons. In delivering the judgment, the court convicted the 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th accused persons and sentenced them to 25 years’ imprisonment each.
